A Murfreesboro man was arrested early Saturday morning after he cut another man, according to police reports provided to The Daily News Journal.
Thomas Holland, 41, was booked into the Rutherford County Jail at 4:08 a.m., about two hours after police were dispatched to the Sevier Street home of Ray Fondren in reference to a stabbing.
Murfreesboro Police Officer Travis Henderson reported that Fondren was bleeding from the nose when he arrived. Fondren told the officer that a man called him “N*****” and he got angry and punched the man, identified later as Holland, who then cut Fondren on the nose.
“We made contact with Mr. Thomas J. Holland,” said Henderson, “Mr. Holland had a black and silver pocket knife in his right front pocket; the knife was seized at this time.”
Fondren was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Medical Center for treatment. Detectives responded to the scene to take over the investigation and Holland was charged with aggravated assault.
Bond was set at $13,000.
