Girls lacrosse coach Caitlin Powderly taken into custody at Atlantic Coast High

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The coach of the girls’ lacrosse team at Atlantic Coast High School was arrested Monday morning on multiple counts of fraud, check forgery and grand theft, the Jacksonville Beach Police Department said.

Caitlin Powderly, 35, was taken into custody at the Duval County high school by Jacksonville Beach police.

According to the arrest report, Powderly stole two checks during the grand opening of MaxFit in March. The checks were forged to the tune of $4,200 and cashed into Powderly’s account, police said.

Investigators said they obtained surveillance video of Powderly making the deposits at her bank.

Powderly was booked into the Duval County Jail.

Her roommates told News4Jax that they weren’t surprised to learn of her arrest, but they’re concerned about her coming back to live with them.

The school district is aware of the arrest, but has made no comment at this time.
