PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Philadelphia-area mayoral candidate says he was serious when he vowed to investigate the use of drug-sniffing bunnies if elected — even though it appears to stem from an internet hoax.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Republican nominee Dave Gautreau broached the idea Thursday at a Phoenixville mayoral forum.
The candidate told the newspaper he had been told about the idea at a gathering and thought he had confirmed with someone in Lancaster the rabbits were in use there.
Judge Gregory Ross recently came under fire after ordering that convicted rapist Christopher Mirasolo could have joint custody to the boy he fathered with a 12-year-old girl nine years ago. Now that the case has caught media attention, the judge has vacated the order and removed custodial rights for Mirasolo.
In a statement, Sanilac County Prosecutor James Young says he wants to “express our apologies for the manner in which this case was handled.”Ross had signed a paternity order on Sept. 22 naming Mirasolo as the father of the boy. Mirasolo was ordered to pay child support and was granted joint custody and parenting time.
“If we want to defeat the globalists,” says Alex Jones in an Infowars video published last year, “we have to understand they’re using medical tyranny against us. But to get us into that globalist-controlled system, they want to make us unhealthy.” He cites fluoridated water, modified crops and cancers deployed as a form of government control. In order to combat this alleged “medical tyranny” Jones has come up with his own line of healthcare products.
However, According to the Oakland-based Center of Environmental Health, Infowars’ Caveman Paleo Formula and another supplement called Myco-ZX contain high levels of lead.
CEH reported that, “People who take the daily recommended dose of the Formula product would ingest more than twice the daily limit for lead under California law.”
Those who took the Myco-ZX supplements faced a greater risk. A single dose of Myco-ZX, which is also meant to be taken daily, contains more than six times the daily limit for lead in California, CEH stated.

A researcher for President Trump’s controversial voter fraud commission has been arrested on 11 counts of possession and distribution of child pornography, according to police and media reports.
Ronald Williams II, 37, was arrested last week after Maryland State Police had received a tip about possible child porn distribution from a particular internet address. Officers searched Williams’ home in Suitland, Md., and found child porn files on his phone, police said.
The Kentucky official who was jailed in 2015 for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples has been advocating against gay marriage this week thousands of miles from home — in Romania, where a movement to outlaw such unions has gained momentum.
Few people in Romania appear to know about the case of Kim Davis, the clerk for Rowan County, Ky., but local gay and transgender rights groups were unhappy about her visit. Some described her as a foreign interloper who had violated the laws in her own country.
Same-sex marriage is not permitted in Romania, but conservatives there have waged a battle to explicitly prohibit it, via a constitutional amendment.
“We invite Kim Davis to share with us her fight for freedom, her strong faith and her experience in prison, which was the price she paid for standing up for her faith,” Mihai Gheorghiu, president of the Coalition for Family, which is leading the fight to outlaw same-sex marriage, said in a statement on Wednesday.
