Becky With The…. I Can’t Title This One

Hopefully, she doesn’t get ghosted.

A British woman who claimed she has slept with at least 20 ghosts says she’s now engaged to a poltergeist.

In December, Amethyst Realm told British TV show “ITV This Morning” that she cheated on her fiancé with a ghost, and has since gone on to have supernatural affairs with at least 20 paranormal beings.

Well, now she says she’s found true love with an apparition.

Realm said the ghost asked her to get married during a trip to celebrate their nine-month relationship at England’s Wookey Hole caves, according to The Sun.

“There was no going down on one knee — he doesn’t have knees. But for the first time, I heard him speak,” she told The Sun. “I could actually hear his voice and it was beautiful. Deep, sexy and real.”

The 30-year-old said she met her spooky match, who doesn’t have a name, during a work trip to Australia in February.

“I’d not had a phantom fling for a while and as I was away on business, starting a new relationship was the last thing on my mind,” the Bristol-based spiritual counselor told The Sun. “Then one day, while I was walking through the bush, enjoying nature, I suddenly felt this incredible energy. A new lover had arrived.”

Realm said her friends and family have embraced her unusual engagement and now she is planning her big day as a “Pagan” ceremony.

“We haven’t discussed the details yet but I think it will be quite a big do,” she said.

However, the couple already had sex on the plane back from Australia when they first met.

“I was happy and excited — so excited that we had to do something about it,” she said. “So we headed to the plane loo and, well, I am now a member of the Mile High Club.”

The bride-to-be added that this engagement is much more satisfying than her previous living fiancé.

“Sometimes I get the feeling that I’m being moved,” she said. “Orgasms I have with my spirit lovers have been way more satisfying than any I’ve had with ordinary men.”

Becky Calls The Government Gun Monkeys Because Canvassing

(Lancaster) — A black woman canvassing for Democratic congressional candidate Jess King is detailing an incident where police were called on her in a gated Lancaster County community.

Dr. Amanda Kemp, a racial justice/mindfulness mentor and visiting scholar at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, says she and her husband, who is white, were allowed entry to Bent Creek in Manheim Township Sunday afternoon after giving the name of a voter they planned to visit.

But after they started knocking on other doors, Bent Creek resident Elizabeth “Duffy” Johnson told them they didn’t belong — saying Bent Creek was private property — and called police.

Elizabeth Duffy JohnsonThey left, but after they returned home, a police officer showed up and spoke to Kemp’s husband.

Kemp wrote a post titled, #Canvassingwhileblack on Facebook and says she is always aware of being a black woman, when moving in predominantly white places.

“The unequal power we had in that situation was very apparent to me,” said Kemp. “Canvassing while black refers to all that anxiety I bring to an interaction, combined with having to face people’s expressed hostility and outright rage, and her saying, ‘You don’t belong here.'”

Johnson is a member of the Republican Committee of Lancaster County and has been campaigning for Lloyd Smucker, the GOP incumbent King is challenging in the 11th district. She also teaches dining, social, and personal skills for the Etiquette School of Central PA. A woman answering the school’s phone Monday afternoon said she could take a message for Johnson but hung up when she was asked to identify herself.

Johnson’s attorney Edwin Pfursich said in statement Tuesday that the story being portrayed on social media is not accurate.

“This matter is about trespassing. The volunteers from Jess King’s campaign entered private property and became aggressive,” he wrote in an email. “They were asked to leave and refused, so the police were notified.”

Neither Kemp nor her husband could say for sure why the situation unfolded as it did, but Kemp noted implicit bias is real, and it is a mistake to simply define racism as someone yelling the n-word.

“There was an undertone,” said Kemp. “Her attitude really reinforces racial attitudes about inequality.”

Smucker campaign spokesman Mike Barley said the matter was referred to law enforcement and “we have no further comment at this time.”

Manheim Township Police Department spokesman Sergeant Michael Piacentino confirmed they were called but said there is no investigation and that, “no criminal event was found to have occurred.”

“The fact the police came to my house–I don’t know what the basis of that was,” said Kemp. “That was really disturbing.”

King’s campaign manager Becca Rast says there have been, historically, disputes between political campaigns and home owners’ associations about what counts as soliciting.

Rast says the campaign will visit such communities but will leave if they’re asked to.

“Bent Creek is a majority white, wealthy community,” said Rast. “Amanda felt like her race may have escalated the situation.”

Boy Accused In School Stabbing Repeatedly Asked Out Victim, Police Say

Luther, OK (The Oklahoman) — A teenage girl who was stabbed at Luther High School last week told investigators the boy accused of stabbing her had repeatedly tried to start a romantic relationship with her.

About 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 16, students were gathered for an assembly in the school’s auditorium when a 14-year-old boy stood up and repeatedly stabbed a 14-year-old girl. The boy and the victim were friends, but Luther police Chief David Randall said the boy wanted a relationship.

“There was one point where he approached her in reference… to try to have some type of relationship, to which she said she wasn’t interested in it,” Randall said the victim told him during an interview earlier this week.

Parents Outraged After Their Son Is Punished for Referring to His Teacher as ‘Ma’am’

Teretha Wilson and McArthur Bryant raise their 10-year-old son Tamarion to call their elders “ma’am” and “sir,” but that politeness got the fifth grader in trouble from a teacher at his preparatory school.

The North Carolina parents told ABC-13 that they had Tamarion moved to a different classroom at North East Carolina Preparatory School in Tarboro after his teacher punished him for calling her “ma’am.”

Tamarion had returned from school on Tuesday with a punishment he had to have signed by his parents. He went on to explain that he had continued to repeatedly call his teacher “ma’am” despite her requests not to, and was told to write the word “ma’am” written on a piece of paper four times per line on both sides as a penalty.

“He had a look on his face of disappointment, shame,” Bryant told ABC-13. “At the end of the day as a father, to feel kind of responsible for that…knowing that I have been raising him and doing the best that I can, it’s not acceptable.”

Wilson went on to explain that Tamarion had recently been in the hospital for seizure-related activity, and had been suffering from memory loss and hallucinations.

Adding to their anger was how the teacher allegedly told Tamarion during the encounter that “if she had something, she would have thrown it at him” — which the parents said the teacher admitted when they met with her and the principal the next day.

“It wasn’t right,” Wilson told to ABC-13. “It wasn’t professional. As a teacher, it wasn’t appropriate.”

Reps for North East Carolina Preparatory School did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, but told ABC-13 in a statement, “This is a personnel matter which has been handled appropriately by the K-7 principal.”

Coming up at 4:30 and 6 on @ABC11_WTVD: Parents of a Tarboro 5th grader are upset after their son got in trouble for calling a teacher “ma’am” against her wishes. In response, they say the teacher made him write the word repeatedly on a sheet of paper

Though Tamarion will moving to a different classroom, Bryant is warning other parents of this sort of behavior. “If it happened to my son, I’m pretty sure if not a week, a day, a month, a year, it will occur to somebody else’s child,” he said.

And as for Tamarion’s punishment, it was returned to the teacher, signed as promised — but with a second sheet of paper attached, the family said: Tamarion, writing the definition of the word “ma’am.”

Texas Man Accused Of Shooting Female Drivers Out Of Hatred For Women

A Texas man is behind bars on suspicion of shooting at female drivers repeatedly over the past several months in Katy, a town west of Houston, local media has reported.

Harris County prosecutors believe the man, 29-year-old Nicholas D’Agostino, was acting out of hatred for women and female drivers, citing several hate-filled social media posts.

“He rants and rambles about female motorists and how incompetent they are, and how their sole purpose in life is to give birth to male children,” a Harris County prosecutor said in court late Thursday, local news outlet KHOU 11 reported.

Florida candidate apologizes amid fake-diploma controversy, says she will stay in race

Brendan FarringtonAssociated Press

A Republican candidate for the Florida Legislature apologized Monday for saying she had a college degree that she didn’t complete, but said she will stay in the race “and lead by example from now on.”

Melissa Howard last week posted a photo of herself with what looked like a Miami University diploma after being accused of lying about her degree. The Ohio university later sent reporters a statement saying she attended the school, but never graduated and the diploma Howard posted has inaccuracies.

Howard posted an apology on her campaign Facebook page and admitted she didn’t graduate from the school.

“I made a mistake in saying that I completed my degree. What I did was wrong and set a bad example for someone seeking public service. I am staying in the race and intend to win and lead by example from now on,” she said.

Even if she dropped out, it’s too late to get her name off the ballot ahead of the Aug. 28 primary. Vote by mail ballots were sent out a month ago. The seat represents portions of Manatee and Sarasota counties, where about 20,000 Republican votes have already been cast.

While some have taken to social media to say Howard should drop out, local party officials say the matter should be left to voters.

“We should just let nature take its course. Let the voters decided if they want her to win the primary,” said Manatee County Republican committeewoman Peggy Simone.

In her statement, Howard said, “It was not my intent to deceive or mislead anyone.” It didn’t say what her intent was.

Her primary opponent, Tommy Gregory, didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

A woman told police she’s a ‘thoroughbred, white girl’ as she tried to avoid jail for DUI

South Carolina police say a woman who sped through a stop sign and was slurring her words allegedly used her race, intelligence and cleanliness as reasons she didn’t belong in jail.

Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw, 32, was charged with a number offenses, including drunken driving, speeding and marijuana possession, after an early Saturday traffic stop in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Police say a Breathalyzer test showed Cutshaw’s blood-alcohol level at 0.18 percent. A person is considered impaired if their BAC is .08 percent or higher, according to South Carolina law.

During the course of the arrest, Cutshaw gave a number of reasons why she shouldn’t be jailed, some of which were used as evidence of her intoxication, according to police records obtained by the Associated Press and the Island Packet.

Among the statements Cutshaw made to police:

  • She is a “very clean, thoroughbred, white girl.”
  • She was a cheerleader and in a sorority.
  • Her partner is a police officer.
  • She had good grades, was in the National Honor Society and graduated from a “high accredited university.”

At the police station, Cutshaw allegedly used her race and cleanliness as a reason she didn’t belong in jail. An officer, who was also white, questioned why that would matter.

Cutshaw reportedly replied, “You’re a cop, you should know what that means.” She also said the officer should know her meaning “based on the people that come in this room.”

A dashcam video of the arrest shows Cutshaw begging not to be jailed and calling herself a “pretty girl,” according to the New York Post. In the video she also expressed worry that the arrest would “ruin her career.”

Cutshaw told police she drank two glasses of wine. When asked how full the glasses of wine were, she reportedly replied, “I mean I was celebrating my birthday.”

During the arrest, police say they also found marijuana and rolling papers in her car, and Cutshaw admitted she “may have” smoked earlier.
